My photo
Hello to all. I haven't recorded my day to day musings since I was about 12. My sister read my diary, and I have never used one since. I suppose now is a good a time as any to begin again, but without the paper. After all, there are lots of things I think about these days.

Indicators

They are not difficult to use, are they? I have never had any trouble doing so.
So why do so many other people not use them?

Simone and I walked today, as we often do, past Morrisions. There is a small roundabout there, and the traffic comes off the dual carriageway. We stopped at the central bollard in the road, and watched to our left for cars. A Clio pulled off the dual carriageway, and as he had no indicator we assumed he was going past us and over the roundabout, and edged out while watching him anyway.

Well, he came straight for us, having turned left...without indicating. He wasn't going so fast he was a danger to us, so I stood my ground in the road so he had to slow down and move over to get past me. As he approached I gesticulated to him that he should have used that small lever behind his wheel, but he looked at me as if I had two heads.

Simone and I shouted at him, and then went on our way. Glancing back she noticed he had stopped!
He was gesturing at us through his rear window to go over to him. Well he didn't need to ask me twice. I went over to the passenger side, and he asked what my problem was!

I told him he had not indicated, and asked if he knew where it was...and told him if it was too difficult for him to use it, he shouldn't be driving. The woman in the passenger seat told us he had indicated, and Simone asked how the hell she knew...she wasn't driving!

Well he defended, and we told him he was an idiot.

I have wanted to have a go at a driver for not indicating for ages...it annoys me almost more than anything else on the roads.

I enjoyed that.
